Queen of The Mic 4

Well, well, well, who knew that we has so many female emcees in the city??  Well for one I did but even I was on some who is she, I ain't never heard of her before type shit last night at the 4th Queen of the Mic competition.  And you know I don't even want to call it a competition because the narrow-minded already try to make it seem that there can only be one female in the music scene!  It was a showcase to expose the Baltimore music scene the see the talent and how lyrical females can be and how they are just as good if not sometimes better than the male emcees!  Yeah I like that!!  LOL

Well I am kinda mad that I missed the first round!! But I had to work and that assistant is always trying to ride the clock knowing I have to go to my job of being the paparazzi!  Can't wait till I don't need to work for someone else but myself!  Sorry releasing some frustrations.

So I missed the first round and when I got there I made my way up to the front next to the judges table and got ready for the next round which of course was about to start!  Now I have been around for a few years and I have seen females come and go and while there are a few that I have became a "fan" of there are some that I look at and say well can you rap about something other than your pussy and how you getting money from guys and that stereotypical scene that females get into!  I have come to realize that these females that have not broaden their scope of lyricism are seeing the guys "react" to those types of songs and think that they are really lyrical when the reality of it is that these guys don't give a damn about what they are saying as long as they are up there shaking their ass and titties and saying something nasty somewhere in the line!  Yeah it's my opinion and as a female, that is all I have seen out of a few.

I'm not going to breakdown all the acts.  Because for one I'm not getting paid to do it!  LOL  And two, I don't feel like going into all the nonsense of someone saying I'm hating or I am showing favoritism.  I do have my favorites but I stand at the stage at every show I go to!  I rarely ever move from that spot!  I don't go to the bar or go outside....well unless there is someone on stage that I really don't fuck with but I stand up there and listen to every single act.  Last night was no different.  But what I was looking at were the judges.  Actually mainly Chin Yer and Skarr Akbar.  I was looking at their reactions to whoever was on stage and basically we were feeling and had the same looks on our faces.

I want to throw this out there...everyone did their thing last night!  I was just feeling some more than others and for those who it was the first time me seeing them, my advice is to control your breathing.  Learn to write your songs so you can take a breath.  Write songs that are different subjects and concepts.  In every song if you are saying the same thing but in a different way, real music lovers will pick up on that and in a competition you want to be different and show how versatile you can be.  You can be pretty and wear sexy clothes but if you don't have a flow or can't come up with metaphors and all, you are just like an empty box with pretty wrapping paper and a bow.  Once you take that off you have an empty box!  Just my thoughts and opinions!

I was really impressed with those I have seen previously at shows.  They really stepped up and came with all they had to show how and why they should be the winner.  DGK gets on stage looking all pretty and with her little dress.  And right away I'm sure people who didn't know her were thinking she was going to be on some sex type shit!  Not DGK!!  LOL  She was on her Bmore Shit!!  I have seen her perform numerous times and last night was a really good performance.

Another female who really came hard was Jaydee.  Now I seen her perform at a spot that I no longer patronize.  I was listening to her and was like ok I'm liking her style.  Well last night her flow, lyrics and her stage presence was on point.  I was like ok she just might have my own personal vote.

Now Coley wasn't feeling well and I could see it when she performed but then it looked like she was really feeling the energy and gave a really good performance.

Elle S showed her versatility by rapping and singing. I haven't seen her perform in a while but I seen how she has progressed and I was feeling her performance!!

The winner of the whole thing was Miss Cream!  I didn't get to see her in the first round so I wasn't sure how she did!  I was hoping that she brought all her skills and when I seen her in the final round I knew that she had done just that!  She did snippets of songs that showed she could be sexy, she had lyrics and that she had different topics.  Now that is what judges are looking for.  Her stage performance was like she was performing at the Arena.  Choreographed and there for a minute I thought she was really mad at her friend who was hyping and dancing with her!  LOL  Very entertaining!

Now I don't want anyone to be mad that I didn't mention them.  Everyone really did their thing.  It takes alot to get on stage and perform.  I feel like everyone has their bad moments and their good ones.  Some I feel and some I don't.  But I'm just one person.  And it's just my opinion.
