Syncere aka Syn aka Homicide

Once again I can't tell you the first time I heard of this young man right here!  LOL  This was the first time I met him I do know that! It was at Ty Gudda's Baltimore Baltimore video shoot, who has since changed his name to his given name of Ty Hill.  Over the years Syncere aka Homicide has built a catalog of music and videos and basically staying out of the clique mentality that is so dominant in Baltimore.  Although he does have a few other artists that he works with closely and regularly, Homicide is primarily a lone artists making his way and not depending on a "clique".  Tends to seem cocky but is about his business which makes him stand out!  He is featured on my latest mixtape In The Spotlight Vol 3 that should be out shortly!  Below are some pictures that I took and a couple things he sent.  Also I posted a couple videos!  So click a video or a link and check him out!  You may find a new artist to support!!

Here is his bio and a few links to be able to check him out!!

Will "Pinpoint" Coleman.....Real Talk.....GHGH

I can't tell you the first time I met Pinpoint but I know he must have left an impression on me because I have been a fan ever since!  I had taken pictures of him way back one night at 5 Seasons and had no clue who he or the guys on stage with him were.  But a year or so later when I heard him on stage I was like uhmmm ok where has this guy been hiding!  Then I found out he was in league with another emcee who I love with all my heart......Only Da Kid!!  Ahhhh haaaaa it's clear to me now was my thought!

Over the past couple of years I have gotten to talk to him about various things and he is a gifted and talented emcee.  He just released a video to his song called "Top of the World".  The track is one that I know female and male alike can relate to and the video does a wonderful job telling the story!!  I wish Pinpoint much success in his future endeavors and knowing the talent he possesses I'm sure that he will prosper!!

Here is Pinpoint's bio and some links to see other work by him.

No one could have known that the unconscious musical decisions of the parents of Baltimore native/G.H.G.H. member ‘Pinpoint’ would have Molded him into such a talented inspirational artist. This man has proven to be more than just your average local musician.

Born William Coleman, and dubbed Pinpoint due to his sharp, precise and accurate rhyming style, this artist has always been exposed to a variety of legendary song makers and classic old school hits because of his parents and their obsession with good music. Pinpoint started his musical mecca at a young age. His father, an avid music connoisseur, would constantly fill their home with the smooth sounds of Quincy Jones, Earth Wind and Fire, Earl Klugh, Anita Baker and The Temptations on a daily basis. His father is one to be regarded as a human ipod, in that, within the first few notes of a song playing, he can tell you the artist’s name, the name of the song, the name of the album the song was on, and the year it was released.
Pinpoint’s mother on the other hand, along with the rest of her side of the family used family functions were as their personal stage. At cookouts and other get-togethers, everyone was always singing and dancing to all of the soul classics. Raised up in a time frame where music was pure and somewhat of an escape from the cruel world.

Once Pinpoint started on his music career he had already developed a edge that a lot of Baltimoreans lack in the business….being humble and appreciating real music. Pinpoint was an avid Eminem and Notorious B.I.G. fan, during the first couple of years honing in on his career and mastering his craft. Many important connections with key players in his music career, Including Only and T.M.K.A.D. (both local rappers) that would shape opportunities to pave his way to greatness later down the line.

In 1999 Pinpoint was involved in the formation of H.B.C. (HellBoundClique) , a band of hungry lyrical artists (which included T.M.K.A.D.). Being Focused more on creating a solid and loyal fanbase via the up and coming social networks and uploading new music for anxious fans, were main priorities for the band of a dozen plus artists. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the group disbanded after a fall out between members proved to be the detrimental and H.B.C. was no more. During his time with H.B.C, Pinpoint was attending a local college, where he met and became associates with ONLY. There was a mutual respect formed between the two, as it related to their separate abilities. This connection would be very important later on for both emcees. After the tragedy of his group breaking up, Pinpoint needed fresh air in order to get back on track with his music .

After multiple failures with trying to rebuild what he had before with his label mates, and dabbling in other businesses ,Pinpoint finally came to a crossroads with his career. He and TMKAD Reached out to an old friend, Only , and Pinpoint hit the studio to start brainstorm on rebuilding the dream and got their heads back in the game. After a stint of networking and writing, both Pinpoint and TMKAD joined up with power house music label G.H.G.H. (Go Hard Go Home), which was an affiliate of The Spitters Club (a society of talented writers, producers and artists in the Baltimore area lead by Shaka Pitts and Only) H.B.C had died, and was no longer an appropriate name for this duo. Pinpoint and TMKAD wanted a name that better represented them as men and honest emcees, and as a result, Real Talk was born.

Pinpoint along with his partner was back on their grind, pushing out their first mixtape “Full Negrocity Vol. 1” shortly after establishing a foothold on the DMV music scene with attention grabbing singles like “Spittin” that features at least 10 of Baltimore’s own talented rappers, “My Freedom” and “ Respect Me”. Surprisingly, after the huge success of ‘Full Negrocity. Vol 1’ Pinpoint took a leap of faith and ventured out on his own to test the waters with his freshman solo mixtape ‘Sweet Tea and Hot Fries’ (released early 2012), which turned out to have the same success as his previous releases under the Real Talk brand. First debuting tracks from the anticipated mixtape at multiple shows around the DMV area, some fans thought the group had parted ways. Pinpoint cleared multiple rumors during interviews and has always made it clear that his partner T.M.K.A.D. would remain a partner. He was still featured on Pinpoints solo mixtape and several promotional items hints at a” Full Negrocity Vol 2” .  The awaited release of Gummo (predicted but not set release date of May 18th, 2012) will be Pinpoint's follow up mixtape, and quite possibly the last one he releases before his debut album, which we expect to hear later this year. With so much success after so much trial and error in his lifetime, one thing that William ‘Pinpoint‘ Coleman has proven to his fans and himself is that he is a resilient man and artist. In the music industry, one minute your in, and the next you and out. But it seems that the path that Pinpoint is currently on, with the positive and uplifting company that he has kept, and the focus and determination to be the best just like his family would want him to be is what sets him apart from a lot of the other indie artists. There is a certain responsibility required to become triumphant in any career, and it seems as if he has found a way to do just that. Creating new opportunities for artists who follow him and his ideals, Pinpoint is a name that will be heard throughout venues, stages and homes for a very long time.

Local "Beef".....is it worth it??

Let's talk beef and no I'm not talking t-bones and steak I'm talking this nonsense I have been seeing alot of in the Baltimore scene!  I mean beef is apart of the hip hop culture!  Just look back at LL Cool J and Canibus, Boogie Down Productions and Juice Crew, NWA and Ice Cube, Eazy E and Dr. Dre, Benzino and Emienem, LL and Kool Moe Dee, Jay-Z and Nas, Biggie and Pac...... and the list goes on and on!!  But what alot of people fail to realize is that if you gonna start "in wax" some people won't leave it "on wax"!!  Some of these rappers are really "about that life" as they all like to remind us!

Now to me the whole beef situation is ridiculous.  Especially in the local scene.  To me it's just a way of getting your name and your music heard!  9 times out of 10 there is no real issue or "beef".  No one had words face to face and it is usually something that was said to someone who told someone who told someone else!  Or it was a moment of trying to look tough and save face in a comment on Facebook or on Twitter!  Let's be honest.....why is anyone really hating on anyone in this scene??  Well I mean there are those who just like drama, feel low about the fact they aren't getting the shine they think they deserve, or they are just weak minded and need to grow the hell up!

The beef that I hate the most is the females!!  Oh my goodness!!!  It's already tough enough to be a female and be taken seriously enough in music.  Most of the females think they have to fit that Nicki or Lil Kim image when all I want them to do if be MC Lyte or Queen Latifah or hell even Roxanne Shante'!!! I'm talking women with bars.  Not women with bars but half ass dressed on stage or in videos trying to get people to listen to their music and watch their videos!  I see it all too often.  I have watched females who have done shows and looked nice or were wearing their tennis or boots then someone gets in their ear and they are wearing short skirts and stilettos and can't move around on stage!!  No one is listening to your bars except maybe me or a couple others!!  You females need to get it together!  I mean you aren't going to like one another and guess what????  THERE DOESN'T NEED TO BE JUST ONE FEMALE ARTIST!!!!   These men have you brainwashed that you can't share the limelight with other females!!

Another aspect of this "beef" situation is subliminal FB statuses.  Now everyone is guilty of putting something out there with no name!  Sometimes you have to because you don't want anyone chiming in or "having your back" because you don't fuck with someone!  Hell I don't fuck with a few people and believe it out not people are still shocked when they ask me about them and I say I don't fuck with them!!  First thing they say is oh I don't be on FB like that!  LOL  I didn't put it on FB like that!  But I see it all the time!  Joe Blow isn't cool with Buddy Lo and then Joe's people are steady writing stuff about Buddy without saying his name and then Buddy is writing about Joe and then Buddy's people start in!  SMH  You have all the time in the world to write bullshit you need to be in the studio or at a job occupying your mind!  It's really not even worth the time or effort.  If you truly have an issue with someone then tell them what it is and either resolve it or don't fuck with them!  LOL  Seriously, when do you cross pathes???  FB statuses???  Half of you don't even cross one another at shows!  Either you aren't doing shows or you don't run in the same circles!  Get over it!!

I wasn't going to waste my time on this but it's just crazy that locally people are doing all this and want to be taken seriously by A&R's and record companies or even artists.  I'm here to tell you that you will be labeled as trouble, not worth the time or effort and they don't have time to be spending money on cleaning up your messes.  Everyone wants to be 50 Cent!  Well I'm sorry to tell you that instead of trying to be someone who is already established try being someone different!  The internet is full of wanna be's!!  You see how many rappers there are just in Baltimore City???  New ones coming out every day!!  Now look at the US alone and how many cities and little towns there are!!  Yeah there are millions of people trying to do the same thing you are trying to do!!  There are even more in other countries!!

But this "beef" nonsense I have been seeing is crazy!  I mean I'm not mad at those who responded because yeah I would too!  Especially when you didn't know there was an issue and all of a sudden someone is talking hella shit about you or writing a diss song or writing stuff on FB.  I say address it and move the hell on because they are just bored with their life or they love drama and it's not worth all that going back and forth! Want to end it all???  Approach them with some videoing it and ask them is there a problem, what it is and what they want to do to move on.  That way there can't be no nonsense that you said this or that or they didn't say this or that!

So is the beef really that serious??  I doubt it!!  Jealousy because they aren't getting recognized or they feel some kinda way about your shine....I'm not gonna say they are "hatin" because everyone wants to say that everyone is hating on them and its really not true!!  But there is some kind of drama they have built up in there heads.

So I'm telling you now that I'm not going to participate in the nonsense because you all look like fools to me going back and forth, sending shots at one another in statuses and tweets.  Hell I got told that it seemed like someone was taking a shot at me in a song!  LOL  Oh well, they didn't say my name but the whole Paparazzi thing makes people think about me I guess!!  Its cool!!  I really don't care because for real they aren't making any money and I'm about to do some things to hopefully help my pockets!!

Baltimore.....before you engage in the fuckery think about what you really want to do with your music career.  Think about is it really worth your time to sit on the internet talking hella shit??? Because I'm telling you for myself that I don't have to do anything to anyone who is "beefing" with me.  There are too many who have not a care in the world to take that internet mess to the street.  Some of you forget that.  So if you want to be a Facebook gangsta, a Twitter thug and sit behind your keyboard the only thing I can tell you is one day someone will approach you in the street, someone will tell where you live and someone will not listen that you weren't talking about so and so.  Every day someone loses their life in this city.

Music is a business!!!  Treat it as such!!  Let's get money people!!  Let's get distribution!!!  Let's get some fans!!!  Leave all that beef mess to the idiots!!!

Happy New Year!!!!!

Well its come to the end of another year and so much has happened in the world let alone in my own little world!  I was happy, suffer emotional loss, lost friendships and relationships of other levels!  I gained new friends and family to compensate for those losses!!  But all in all 2012 was a wonderful and great experience!  Through all the downs it made me appreciate the ups even more!

Now usually I try to clear my slate before the next year but I did that last year and 8 months later it came back to bite me in the ass!  Needless to say it was definitely a lesson learned that not everyone that says they are your friend are your friend.  Not everyone that claims to be family is there for you, most of the time its to benefit them.  And if someone is talking bad about someone that they are friends with, you can guarantee they are talking to them about you.  Lessons learned.

As for 2013 I'm gonna live it to the fullest. I've got ideas and plans in the works.  I am working more towards making myself more of an asset to the music community than I have been told I already am.  I take the pictures at the shows and I write blogs and I try and support as many people as I can.  But 2013 is going to be about business and getting paid for the things I will be doing and to help artists get paid as well!  Trust me when I say I want to do more and I will do more!!

As for relationships.... :)  I'm keeping the ones I have.  Got some really great people in my corner and they have my back. You know the ones that hit you up just to see how you are and make sure you are doing ok!  Yeah I'm keeping them right there!

I hope that everyone finds their happiness in 2013 if they didn't have it in 2012!! Hope that those who were doing evil in 2012 wake up and see that in 2013 its not a good look to be grimey and evil and it's time to grow up and be responsible adults.  I hope that those who don't like me realize that I don't care if you like me or not.  I hope that those I don't care for realize that I don't care if you like it or not.  Doesn't really matter!  I tend to get along with everyone so if I don't like someone or get along with them think about that for a minute!

I hope that everyone finds peace.  I know that since August I have been so happy and at peace that it had people thinking I was drunk every time they seen me!  LOL  No I was at peace.  Good things come to good people and I have had so many good things and people come my way!!  Hope you all have a prosperous new year!!

New friends and family came into my life!!
Old friends who will always have a place in my life!
People I love and who love me are a constant in my world!
Some have moved away but always in my heart!!
Some friends just keep you grounded!!
Old loves show up just at the right time to remind you that they still love you.
