Bodymore Big Steve - I Do This **** In My Sleep

Bodymore Big Steve - I Do This **** In My Sleep

So a few days ago I received a link.  Big Steve of Bodymore Records had sent me this project to listen to and review.  And I have been listening to it every day.

I have known Big Steve for years and I have watched him grow as an artist. This project is a mixture of beats and well stories. Big Steve goes over industry beats and makes them his own. He doesn't try to do what the original artist did and doesn't talk about the same things.

The very first track is a collection of what is called Classic Shit and it truly it.  Parts of verses from some of the best songs the Big Steve has had over the past few years.

The tracks on this project are such a great mixture.  The songs that are really personal and about love and his girls....he has 3 of the most beautiful little girls.....are the ones that I really feel to my soul.  His pain of loving and losing is like him opening up himself and it is therapy for him and the listener.

He even as a track called Spoken Word that is dedicated to his daughter Mira.  Something really different for an artist to put on a mixtape.  Almost brought me to tears the first time I heard it and even the 5th time I listened to it.

Big Steve has Lil Black from 92Q hosting the mixtape.

He even sings a little on the songs with the help of autotune.

I love seeing the growth in this young man over the years.  This project really shows the versatility of Big Steve as an artist and the growth as a man and father.

He will be dropping this at midnight tonight online and delivering hard copies tomorrow for FREE.  According to his post he made this morning.

Grab this project as soon as it comes out.  You will be playing this from beginning to end and then repeat.

#BeatzByHurd - DJ Myzter Hurd

So the other day I get a message asking if I could check out a cd.  Of course I said sure, DJ Myzter Hurd is a friend and I have heard a couple of these tracks already and couldn't wait to hear the whole project.

Now one thing I already know about Hurd is that he is like me....he like lyrics on a hard beat.  So I already knew the project was going to be above the norm.

14 tracks....only 3 artists I'm not familiar with and Hurd selected the artist to go on each of the tracks that he produced.  So in case you haven't put things together DJ Myzter Hurd is a dj, a producer and an emcee.

The first thought as I played the project was that feeling I use to get in the 90's and early 2000's.  The beat I can bop to and the lyrics that paint the pictures in my head like I can see the words in video form.  And the fact that he hand picked the emcee to "display their vocal talent on these original tracks" made it work even better.  Ever listen to a song and think that the artist and the beat just do go well together?  You won't get that with this project.

Click here to grab #BeatzByHurd or to listen

I can't say which track is my favorite because I like this whole project.

Number 10 - Myzter Hurd makes me think about LL Cool J.  And the beat had me rocking while listening.

I suggest that you who is reading this go check out the link and at least give it a listen.  He has it listed for $5 and its worth so much more.

So go click on the link   #BeatzByHurd and take a listen and judge for yourself.  This is one of those projects that with have you saying now this is what hip hop sounds like.

Team Kreamate - Beautiful Ashes

Team Kreamate - Beautiful Ashes

Team Kreamate, which is comprised of Savage Da Beast, Bones From Da Park, Flint Da Monster, Dime Poe and Rebel, released a project called Beautiful Ashes today.  Now I was given an advance copy to listen to and to give my thoughts on the project is primarily Bones and Savage but all members are on the project.

My first thought as I listened to the songs individually was that once again the mixture of the beats with the lyrics had been taken to another level,  In other words, progression.  And since I have known this group that is all I have seen.  They keep pushing to make the next song better than the last, to make the last project better than the last.  Another thing I noticed as I listened to the project was the laid back feel of the cd.......almost an R&B feel to it.

1.  Beautiful Ashes(Intro) - Definitely an intro...Bones and Savage give you a glimpse of what's about to come on the project as well as the future of Team Kreamate!  When I listen to this song I see a Phoenix flying through fire.  Yes I'm very visual when it comes to music.

2.  Respekt Dat - I seen the guys perform this on stage,  This song is one that you can just rock too!  The beat isn't one that gets you all hyped but listen to the lyrics.....anyone who knows me I listen to words....the lyrics let you know that Savage and Bones have been working to gain respect in the scene and you are going to give them the respect they deserve.

3.  Muuzik ft Rebel - Now this track is a little more upbeat...meaning it will make you move a little more than the sitting and vibing like the other tracks.  Rebel on this track will make you go who is this.

4.  Follow The Crowd ft Rebel - This track is just so laid back and got that old back in the day R&B feel to it.  The message is so great.  Follow what you want to do and don't just follow behind what everyone else is doing.  Savage, Rebel and Bones give you a look at their life...past, present and future.

5.  I'ma Get It - If you just sit and close your eyes and listen you can feel the emotions that went into writing this song.  Told you I'm a visual person with lyrics!

6.  Good Life ft Mr. Supe - Now this track had me moving in my seat.  Almost dancing to be honest!  Just a good feeling song.

7.  Over Here - OK Savage singing on the track!  This is one of those tracks that the video would be x-rated!  LOL  So you know it is the one the ladies would listen to and be instant groupies!

8.  H3ated - This is exactly what the name says.....heated!!  Savage lets out some aggression on his beat!

9.  Krakk - Ft Flint - This track is more upbeat and will have you hyped.  The fast flows will have you spinning and go how the hell did they spit all those words....I got to start this one over again!

10.  Kobain Interlude - Dime Poe!!!!  Every time I have heard Dime Poe on a track I am always surprised at the word play.  I don't know why after all this time of knowing him but he just flows so well and the words just seem to melt out to your ears.

11. BarLordz - Oh my goodness......from the production of Street Scott to the lyrics of Savage and Bones......this is one of the hardest tracks.  BarLordz is exactly what they are.

12.  Bxtch ft Flint -  Love this one!!  Love the hook!!  I can think of a few people that I could direct this track to!  LOL  This track is pretty self-explanatory!

13.  Foreal - This is another track that straight forward but the beat makes it laid back.

14.  Success - Pretty much the name of this one says it all!  Dreaming about success and going to make those dreams come true while being true to self!!

15. Bonus Track - The Kombo Konvo Pt 1. -  I love a track where the 2 artists are going back and forth.....like a conversation.  Dime Poe and Savage did a good job with the back and forth.  The is the bonus but I think it is just a prequel to the next project!!!

So yeah there you have my thoughts on this project!  I have been blessed to see the growth and progression of these young men!  I was introduced to Savage's music in 2007 and then met Bones, Flint, Poe and Rebel through Pit Fights Battle League which is rap battles.  Their coming together was nothing more than fire.  Each individual can hold their own on a song but the mixture and chemistry of them as a team is awesome.

I really like this cd!  I listened to it like 4 times today to be honest!  As I said these are my thoughts and opinions on how I felt about the songs. Maybe you will listen and hear something different or feel something different!  But listen at least to the project.

Great job fellas!!  From the choice of music to the lyrics to the promotion to the execution!

Beautiful Ashes  can be listened to at this link.

February 12th at The Hott Spott 830 Guildford Ave Team Kreamte is having a release party for this project.  Come out and support.

Puzzle Pieces

She wanted him so bad.  She had missed him so much over the years.  But she wasn't about to get her feelings mixed up again.  She couldn't let herself feel so much for him and he wasn't able to do the same for her.  It wasn't that he wouldn't.....he just couldn't.  Life can be so complicated.  But here he was holding her, kissing her, telling her how he felt and all she could do was smile and not say anything. She was too afraid to say anything because what if he really didn't mean it.  What if it was just the alcohol talking.  What if he was going to regret it the next day.

All she did know was that looking at him smile made her melt.  Feeling his lips on hers felt like fire was consuming her. The touch of his hands sent chills throughout her body.  She had missed him more than even she had realized.  The words I love you came from his mouth and as much as she wanted to say them back, her head was screaming no!  She did love him.  She had loved him.  No matter what happened in the past few years, she couldn't stay mad or upset with him.  She loved his spirit, his soul....she loved him.

Laying in his arms it felt like this is where she was suppose to be.  Like 2 pieces of a puzzle that fit perfectly in a puzzle that they didn't belong to.  Her head laid on his shoulder, listening to him breathe as he dozed off.  She stared at his face thinking that it was a dream and not wanting to wake up if it was one.  She laid there thinking this was so wonderful.  And then reality started setting in.  In a few hours, he would be gone.  On his way back home.  She would once again wonder when she would see him again.  Wondering when he would call.  Wondering when she would feel his touch.  And this is why she couldn't let herself fall for him again.

New Year Post - KAE FIELDS

The first blog of 2014....I have been slacking on writing the blog because I guess I felt like no one was reading them.  Then I was like I will make a video blog but no one watches those unless you are outing someone out.

But I wanted to write my first blog and didn't want to write about last year....I did that mess in the video I posted!  So I was sitting here posting up music videos from some good people.  Ones that always show me love and support and then I watched Pit Fights battle between Murda and Rolla even though I was there taking pictures!!  LOL  I always miss things because I'm trying to get the shots! 1,333 to be exact that night!  LOL

Anyway, so I remembered that I got Kae Field's cd last night!  Now I have heard a lot of his songs because he is one of the artists that I really like and support.  I mean really support. The kind of support that he is doing a show and I don't like anyone else on the show but I go anyway! LOL  Also he has done videos for a good amount of his songs.

So I pop it in my laptop...I don't have a cd player much less a radio in my house.  The cd has 13 tracks with 3 of those being Kae Fields speaking so there are 10 tracks.

What I love about this cd is it is one of those cds that it has a mixture of songs.  It has tracks like Suge Knight ft TK Black.......

And then has tracks like True Love ft Qui Qui Martin....

You can check out his other videos on his YouTube page  http://www.youtube.com/user/KFieldsTV as well as hit him on FB Kae Fields

This cd will be a companion for my cd player in my car most definitely!!  What a great way to bring in the new year!!!

Billy Lyve and Wisdom Court Open for MGK

March 10, 2013

Now when I found out about this show I was excited!  Not because MGK was coming to Baltimore but because Billy Lyve and Wisdom Court were going to be opening up for him.  This was going to be a packed  show but Wisdom Court fans and supporters were going to be coming from all over.  Not just Maryland but West Virginia, Delaware.....everywhere!  I also knew that once this crowd seen Billy perform along with Ambush, Penthouse and Voice performing the fanbase for Wisdom Court was going to be crazy. And it was.

The fans started lining up at like 3pm according to Baltimore Soundstage and by 7pm it was around the corner on Lombard on its way to Gay St!

Once you got inside it just looked like a sea of humans!  People from the front to the back side to side!  There was no room to breathe people were still trying to make moves to get closer to the stage!  It wasnt happening!!

Wisdom Court member JayMoney got on stage and pumped the crowd up and then took a picture of the sea of people.

When Billy Lyve took the stage the crowd went crazy.  Even though they were there to see MGK they rocked out with the music!!  The energy was crazy.  Everyone was amped up and it was contagious!!

No Love II Feb 17, 2013

Damn!!  I haven't written about a Pit Fight event in a while!!  LOL  For some reason I felt like I needed to write something about the Pit Fights Battle League!!

Now I have been supporting the battles since Shaka had them at the studio on Maryland Ave!!  Small area, too many people crammed into a small space! Felt like summer in the winter time kinda shit! LOL  I'm not a big big fan of rap battles but I am a fan of local artists and music and I try to help get the word out on what is going on!  I am a director of traffic!!

I haven't been to a Pit Fight in a few months.  Actually December 3 was the last one I went to!!  I had different reasons on why I stopped coming!!  I am there to support....not to be anyone's personal photographer!!  If you wanted to pose for pictures all night you should have brought your own camera!  I get shots of the battlers and a few other shots but when it feels like you want a photo shoot I just might snap!!

Anyway, I had to come to this one for a few reasons.  My girl Hazzy was battling Spence, King Major was coming up from VA to battle Tay Brown and Smirf was battling too and I have watched him progressively improve over couple of years.  So I knew I had to be there for these battles at least!

Of course from all the running around I did I didn't charge my battery up and it died!  I tried to run home thinking I wasn't going to miss much and ended up miss Bars' battle!!  He is one of the guys who always appreciates my work!  LOL  Sorry Bars!!  You know I owe you!!!

King Major and Tay Brown
King Major wasn't up to par!  He was sick and this wasn't his best performance from the ones I have personally witnessed and I have watched a couple on YouTube!!  I think that one day these 2 should battle again!!

Then there was a spur of the moment performance but Team Kremate!  LOL  Their song Burn Everything is a hit!  It is actually the number one song on my mixtape!! I tried putting it somewhere else on the list but I had to open up with that track!!  Just too awesome!!  Team Kremate is  Savage da Beast, Flint, Bones, and Dime Poe!!

Flint, Savage, Dime Poe, Bones

Next up was Smirf's battle with Vizz from Philly!!  I'm not gonna lie, Vizz came to fight but so did Smirf!!  This was a really good battle and I will be glad when the footage comes out so people can hear all the bars and judge this one!!  I know who I thought won!  Everyone has their own opinions!!

Vizz and Smirf

This is when my camera died!!  :(  L Dot and Makk Mizzle and it was only for one round!!  Just a teaser???!!  Really??  LMAOOOO  People were upset about that!!!  But it was a good round!!  Can't wait to see if they are going to do a whole 3 rounds or what!!  LOL

L Dot and Makk Mizzle

This is when I left out to run home to get my charger and missed like 2 battles I think!!

But I got back in time to see Hazzy and Spence!!  This battle is going to get views!!  I know it will! For one it's Female vs Male and for two they had been going back and forth over Facebook and Twitter!!  LOL

Hazzy and Spence
Now I am just trying to shine some light on Pit Fights!  If you want to see footage go to http://www.pitfights.tv/  Also there is an event every 3 Sunday!  They also have battles on the First Monday of the month!!

If you can please come out to at least one event!!  I can guarantee it won't be your last!!  These battlers are gifted and will say things that will having you laughing for days and sometimes weeks later!!  LOL

In The Spotlight Vol 3

Well after a few months of gathering music and waiting on some music I have finally posted the mixtape on Datpiff!!

I'm not one for alot of frills and commotion so all you are getting is straight music!!!  I put this together from people who sent me tracks without me even having to ask!  I said hey Vol 3 is being worked on and the next thing I knew I was getting hit up about what's the email address!!  LOL  I guess I do mean something to people in this business!  LOL

Go check out the cd.....stream it, download it, but please support it!!  These guys and the couple of ladies I have on there work hard at what they do and I think they need to be recognized for their craft!!!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this mixtape and the previous ones!  There are 2 more in the works!!!  One is all females and the other is R&B!!  I'm doing what I can to let people know about the talent in Baltimore!!!

Addressing the XXL list........

Ok I have about had it with this mess about the list!!!  What list???  Ok....a local writer Kim Brown wrote a list of 10 rappers that you need to know in Baltimore.  The list consisted of Skarr Akbar, Comp, Mully Man, DBoi, Miss Cream, Los or as he goes by now I guess King Los, Em Sea Water, Mooked Out, Starvation and Off Tha Edge.

Now that last 4 I have never heard of and I have been dealing with this scene since mid 2006!!!  So that right there goes to show you that you aren't going to know EVERY DAMN RAPPER in this scene!!

SIGHHHHHHH breathe Lisa!!!

So all I kept seeing was salty bitter ass feminine ass comments from dudes!!  First of all this isn't at TOP 10 list!!  It is just a list of rappers that the author felt people should get to know!  It is her opinion!!  See we got to come back to the whole opinion thing!!  SMH  In MY OPINION out of the ones I do know 2 of them I'm not even fans of!!  I show love for their grind and their work but their music....not a fan!!!  It is what it is no love lost but I just don't see what their "fans" see!! But that is MY OPINION!!!

I wrote this status on Thursday:

I am so over those of you bitching whining and crying that you aren't named in articles and list!! Do you all know how much I am overlooked for all the stuff and support I do?????? Top anything lists are mostly opinions or whoever is making a name in certain circles!! So all those crying about not being named in the XXL article which by the way WAS NOT A TOP 10 ANY DAMN THING.......do you want me to make you feel special and write an article and name you in it??? For fuck's sake get over that bullshit!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Let the fuckery keep you right where you are!!!! Sitting there complaining instead of taking the opportunity to get your press kit to writers, magazines.......smh. Dumbasses!!!!

Now anyone who knows me knows that I have my favorites!!  Just look at who I really promote and push!! Look at the pictures I have taken of over the years!  Look at the times you actually see me out at the shows!!  I have my favorite artists, rappers and singers!! But I also try and support everyone who is really working to make something happen for themselves and their team!!  Those who don't rap over their vocals ALL THE DAMN TIME!!  Those who have RADIO EDIT versions of their "HIT" song!!  Those who actually SELL their tickets and don't bring back 8 of the 15 saying yo I tried but.......Those are the people who have a business mind and actually want to get somewhere with music.

Now back to this list!!  I met Kim Brown when Ogun did the Winter Coat Drive.  She had used my picture of the I Support Baltimore Hip Hop billboard in an article she wrote!!  She was there to write a follow up article and asked if I could take some pictures for the article!  Of course I would!!  Just because you all know who the Baltimore Paparazzi is doesn't mean others do!! And I'm not mad or bitter that they don't!!  I just give them my business card!!  :)

So Kim writes this list and all hell seems to break loose with bullshit and fuckery!!! I'm sitting here shaking my head thinking as a fan of local music and independent artists, the stuff I'm seeing makes me not even want to be a fan of those names that are being thrown out there with the comments of ....well what about so and so he the hardest rapper in the city!!  Uhmmmmm that may very well be but guess what????  NOBODY KNOWS WHO THE HELL THAT IS!!!

Now if you know me you know that I'm the photographer of Wisdom Court!!  Wisdom Court has artists Billy Lyve, Penthouse and Voice on the roster.  Now none of them were mentioned and with all that Billy Lyve has accomplished anyone who knows that would think he would be mentioned!  But not one of us got on FB bitching, complaining, or moaning about not being mentioned!!  Hell Wisdom Court as a whole makes moves and does things and doesn't get the recognition that I think it deserves from the local scene!!  But it is recognized by the powers that be and by the fanbase it has and shows in the ticket sales at shows and the show offers that Billy Lyve receives!  So being on lists that are a matter of OPINION and who knows who really has no effect!

I understand that everyone wants to be recognized for what they do!  Everyone wants that shine, that moment in the spotlight but if you really aren't working on making your BUSINESS a success then what makes you so special???  There are hundreds if not thousands of rappers in this city and just imagine in the country!!!  Now, why are you bitching about you not being named or your mans and them not being named???  This is the time to get your press kit to people!!  This is the time to get your website out to people!!  This is the time to get your music out to people!!  Funny thing is that most of you who are doing the bitching DON'T HAVE ANY OF THOSE THINGS!!!  Yeah.....I said that!!!

So a big shout out to Kim Brown for the work she has done for the local hip hop scene!!  Because if she hadn't write articles about the local music then I wouldn't be writing this blog or writing comments or having discussions on this topic!!

Now how many of you that read this are pissed off at me??  LMAOOOO  It doesn't matter!!  At the end of the day, the truth hurts and it is the reality of you having to look in the mirror and face the fact that you aren't grinding as hard as you think or as your "team" keeps telling you that you are!!  I've always been told that real G's move in silence!!

Now get on your grind and start doing better business!!

Syncere aka Syn aka Homicide

Once again I can't tell you the first time I heard of this young man right here!  LOL  This was the first time I met him I do know that! It was at Ty Gudda's Baltimore Baltimore video shoot, who has since changed his name to his given name of Ty Hill.  Over the years Syncere aka Homicide has built a catalog of music and videos and basically staying out of the clique mentality that is so dominant in Baltimore.  Although he does have a few other artists that he works with closely and regularly, Homicide is primarily a lone artists making his way and not depending on a "clique".  Tends to seem cocky but is about his business which makes him stand out!  He is featured on my latest mixtape In The Spotlight Vol 3 that should be out shortly!  Below are some pictures that I took and a couple things he sent.  Also I posted a couple videos!  So click a video or a link and check him out!  You may find a new artist to support!!

Here is his bio and a few links to be able to check him out!!

Will "Pinpoint" Coleman.....Real Talk.....GHGH

I can't tell you the first time I met Pinpoint but I know he must have left an impression on me because I have been a fan ever since!  I had taken pictures of him way back one night at 5 Seasons and had no clue who he or the guys on stage with him were.  But a year or so later when I heard him on stage I was like uhmmm ok where has this guy been hiding!  Then I found out he was in league with another emcee who I love with all my heart......Only Da Kid!!  Ahhhh haaaaa it's clear to me now was my thought!

Over the past couple of years I have gotten to talk to him about various things and he is a gifted and talented emcee.  He just released a video to his song called "Top of the World".  The track is one that I know female and male alike can relate to and the video does a wonderful job telling the story!!  I wish Pinpoint much success in his future endeavors and knowing the talent he possesses I'm sure that he will prosper!!

Here is Pinpoint's bio and some links to see other work by him.

No one could have known that the unconscious musical decisions of the parents of Baltimore native/G.H.G.H. member ‘Pinpoint’ would have Molded him into such a talented inspirational artist. This man has proven to be more than just your average local musician.

Born William Coleman, and dubbed Pinpoint due to his sharp, precise and accurate rhyming style, this artist has always been exposed to a variety of legendary song makers and classic old school hits because of his parents and their obsession with good music. Pinpoint started his musical mecca at a young age. His father, an avid music connoisseur, would constantly fill their home with the smooth sounds of Quincy Jones, Earth Wind and Fire, Earl Klugh, Anita Baker and The Temptations on a daily basis. His father is one to be regarded as a human ipod, in that, within the first few notes of a song playing, he can tell you the artist’s name, the name of the song, the name of the album the song was on, and the year it was released.
Pinpoint’s mother on the other hand, along with the rest of her side of the family used family functions were as their personal stage. At cookouts and other get-togethers, everyone was always singing and dancing to all of the soul classics. Raised up in a time frame where music was pure and somewhat of an escape from the cruel world.

Once Pinpoint started on his music career he had already developed a edge that a lot of Baltimoreans lack in the business….being humble and appreciating real music. Pinpoint was an avid Eminem and Notorious B.I.G. fan, during the first couple of years honing in on his career and mastering his craft. Many important connections with key players in his music career, Including Only and T.M.K.A.D. (both local rappers) that would shape opportunities to pave his way to greatness later down the line.

In 1999 Pinpoint was involved in the formation of H.B.C. (HellBoundClique) , a band of hungry lyrical artists (which included T.M.K.A.D.). Being Focused more on creating a solid and loyal fanbase via the up and coming social networks and uploading new music for anxious fans, were main priorities for the band of a dozen plus artists. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the group disbanded after a fall out between members proved to be the detrimental and H.B.C. was no more. During his time with H.B.C, Pinpoint was attending a local college, where he met and became associates with ONLY. There was a mutual respect formed between the two, as it related to their separate abilities. This connection would be very important later on for both emcees. After the tragedy of his group breaking up, Pinpoint needed fresh air in order to get back on track with his music .

After multiple failures with trying to rebuild what he had before with his label mates, and dabbling in other businesses ,Pinpoint finally came to a crossroads with his career. He and TMKAD Reached out to an old friend, Only , and Pinpoint hit the studio to start brainstorm on rebuilding the dream and got their heads back in the game. After a stint of networking and writing, both Pinpoint and TMKAD joined up with power house music label G.H.G.H. (Go Hard Go Home), which was an affiliate of The Spitters Club (a society of talented writers, producers and artists in the Baltimore area lead by Shaka Pitts and Only) H.B.C had died, and was no longer an appropriate name for this duo. Pinpoint and TMKAD wanted a name that better represented them as men and honest emcees, and as a result, Real Talk was born.

Pinpoint along with his partner was back on their grind, pushing out their first mixtape “Full Negrocity Vol. 1” shortly after establishing a foothold on the DMV music scene with attention grabbing singles like “Spittin” that features at least 10 of Baltimore’s own talented rappers, “My Freedom” and “ Respect Me”. Surprisingly, after the huge success of ‘Full Negrocity. Vol 1’ Pinpoint took a leap of faith and ventured out on his own to test the waters with his freshman solo mixtape ‘Sweet Tea and Hot Fries’ (released early 2012), which turned out to have the same success as his previous releases under the Real Talk brand. First debuting tracks from the anticipated mixtape at multiple shows around the DMV area, some fans thought the group had parted ways. Pinpoint cleared multiple rumors during interviews and has always made it clear that his partner T.M.K.A.D. would remain a partner. He was still featured on Pinpoints solo mixtape and several promotional items hints at a” Full Negrocity Vol 2” .  The awaited release of Gummo (predicted but not set release date of May 18th, 2012) will be Pinpoint's follow up mixtape, and quite possibly the last one he releases before his debut album, which we expect to hear later this year. With so much success after so much trial and error in his lifetime, one thing that William ‘Pinpoint‘ Coleman has proven to his fans and himself is that he is a resilient man and artist. In the music industry, one minute your in, and the next you and out. But it seems that the path that Pinpoint is currently on, with the positive and uplifting company that he has kept, and the focus and determination to be the best just like his family would want him to be is what sets him apart from a lot of the other indie artists. There is a certain responsibility required to become triumphant in any career, and it seems as if he has found a way to do just that. Creating new opportunities for artists who follow him and his ideals, Pinpoint is a name that will be heard throughout venues, stages and homes for a very long time.

Local "Beef".....is it worth it??

Let's talk beef and no I'm not talking t-bones and steak I'm talking this nonsense I have been seeing alot of in the Baltimore scene!  I mean beef is apart of the hip hop culture!  Just look back at LL Cool J and Canibus, Boogie Down Productions and Juice Crew, NWA and Ice Cube, Eazy E and Dr. Dre, Benzino and Emienem, LL and Kool Moe Dee, Jay-Z and Nas, Biggie and Pac...... and the list goes on and on!!  But what alot of people fail to realize is that if you gonna start "in wax" some people won't leave it "on wax"!!  Some of these rappers are really "about that life" as they all like to remind us!

Now to me the whole beef situation is ridiculous.  Especially in the local scene.  To me it's just a way of getting your name and your music heard!  9 times out of 10 there is no real issue or "beef".  No one had words face to face and it is usually something that was said to someone who told someone who told someone else!  Or it was a moment of trying to look tough and save face in a comment on Facebook or on Twitter!  Let's be honest.....why is anyone really hating on anyone in this scene??  Well I mean there are those who just like drama, feel low about the fact they aren't getting the shine they think they deserve, or they are just weak minded and need to grow the hell up!

The beef that I hate the most is the females!!  Oh my goodness!!!  It's already tough enough to be a female and be taken seriously enough in music.  Most of the females think they have to fit that Nicki or Lil Kim image when all I want them to do if be MC Lyte or Queen Latifah or hell even Roxanne Shante'!!! I'm talking women with bars.  Not women with bars but half ass dressed on stage or in videos trying to get people to listen to their music and watch their videos!  I see it all too often.  I have watched females who have done shows and looked nice or were wearing their tennis or boots then someone gets in their ear and they are wearing short skirts and stilettos and can't move around on stage!!  No one is listening to your bars except maybe me or a couple others!!  You females need to get it together!  I mean you aren't going to like one another and guess what????  THERE DOESN'T NEED TO BE JUST ONE FEMALE ARTIST!!!!   These men have you brainwashed that you can't share the limelight with other females!!

Another aspect of this "beef" situation is subliminal FB statuses.  Now everyone is guilty of putting something out there with no name!  Sometimes you have to because you don't want anyone chiming in or "having your back" because you don't fuck with someone!  Hell I don't fuck with a few people and believe it out not people are still shocked when they ask me about them and I say I don't fuck with them!!  First thing they say is oh I don't be on FB like that!  LOL  I didn't put it on FB like that!  But I see it all the time!  Joe Blow isn't cool with Buddy Lo and then Joe's people are steady writing stuff about Buddy without saying his name and then Buddy is writing about Joe and then Buddy's people start in!  SMH  You have all the time in the world to write bullshit you need to be in the studio or at a job occupying your mind!  It's really not even worth the time or effort.  If you truly have an issue with someone then tell them what it is and either resolve it or don't fuck with them!  LOL  Seriously, when do you cross pathes???  FB statuses???  Half of you don't even cross one another at shows!  Either you aren't doing shows or you don't run in the same circles!  Get over it!!

I wasn't going to waste my time on this but it's just crazy that locally people are doing all this and want to be taken seriously by A&R's and record companies or even artists.  I'm here to tell you that you will be labeled as trouble, not worth the time or effort and they don't have time to be spending money on cleaning up your messes.  Everyone wants to be 50 Cent!  Well I'm sorry to tell you that instead of trying to be someone who is already established try being someone different!  The internet is full of wanna be's!!  You see how many rappers there are just in Baltimore City???  New ones coming out every day!!  Now look at the US alone and how many cities and little towns there are!!  Yeah there are millions of people trying to do the same thing you are trying to do!!  There are even more in other countries!!

But this "beef" nonsense I have been seeing is crazy!  I mean I'm not mad at those who responded because yeah I would too!  Especially when you didn't know there was an issue and all of a sudden someone is talking hella shit about you or writing a diss song or writing stuff on FB.  I say address it and move the hell on because they are just bored with their life or they love drama and it's not worth all that going back and forth! Want to end it all???  Approach them with some videoing it and ask them is there a problem, what it is and what they want to do to move on.  That way there can't be no nonsense that you said this or that or they didn't say this or that!

So is the beef really that serious??  I doubt it!!  Jealousy because they aren't getting recognized or they feel some kinda way about your shine....I'm not gonna say they are "hatin" because everyone wants to say that everyone is hating on them and its really not true!!  But there is some kind of drama they have built up in there heads.

So I'm telling you now that I'm not going to participate in the nonsense because you all look like fools to me going back and forth, sending shots at one another in statuses and tweets.  Hell I got told that it seemed like someone was taking a shot at me in a song!  LOL  Oh well, they didn't say my name but the whole Paparazzi thing makes people think about me I guess!!  Its cool!!  I really don't care because for real they aren't making any money and I'm about to do some things to hopefully help my pockets!!

Baltimore.....before you engage in the fuckery think about what you really want to do with your music career.  Think about is it really worth your time to sit on the internet talking hella shit??? Because I'm telling you for myself that I don't have to do anything to anyone who is "beefing" with me.  There are too many who have not a care in the world to take that internet mess to the street.  Some of you forget that.  So if you want to be a Facebook gangsta, a Twitter thug and sit behind your keyboard the only thing I can tell you is one day someone will approach you in the street, someone will tell where you live and someone will not listen that you weren't talking about so and so.  Every day someone loses their life in this city.

Music is a business!!!  Treat it as such!!  Let's get money people!!  Let's get distribution!!!  Let's get some fans!!!  Leave all that beef mess to the idiots!!!

I Humbly Thank You......

On Nov 3rd Baltimore came together for the Baltimore Crown Awards! Well not ALL of Baltimore but more than enough to have a feel good vibe.  I wrote up a little something already but this isn't about the event its self and more of my thank yous and all that!!!

I wrote a speech for the Special Appreciation Award that I won but never got to give it because we ran out of time.....as always.  LOL  There were so many people there and there were new awards and wonderful special performances!!!  But anyway this is suppose to be about me!  LOL

So this is the speech!  I posted it on my page and I posted it in the comments of the picture of my award on the Baltimore Scene Facebook page too!!

I want to thank all who nominated and voted for me. I am appreciative of those who acknowledge the things I do. Too many times we forget and take for granted the things that those we are close to do for us and sometimes a heartfelt THANK YOU means the world.

I sincerely want to thank Bomb. That’s my family and I will always be MIB. And for those who don’t care much for me because I’m too loud or too honest…Blame Bomb! LOL IF it weren’t for him reaching out to me as an artist to a fan in 2006 on MySpace I wouldn’t know any of you!

I want to thank Chin Yer and Shaka Pitts for all the shows and events that they have put together so that I can do the things that I do. Not just the photography but the networking and the relationships I have built over these past 6 yrs! WOWWW 6 yrs!!

Sonny Brown for all the phone calls and wonderful long conversations about business and even personal things I was going through!

Ogun, you are Bmore’s Hero but you are one of my closest friends whether you realize it or not.

My Tay Tay…Thank you just isn’t enough for you!! I love you with all my heart!!

My brother Vision and sister Misha, my BMWB family thank you for always holding me up when I couldn’t hold myself. 1Up 1 Down

Billy Lyve and the entire Wisdom Court, Mai, Sam, Latrice, Penthouse, There is too many of you all to name….I love you guys!! Thank you for the opportunities you have giving me and the ones that are coming. I feel really good about this year coming!!

There are tons of others I wish I could thank but I will save that for my blog! We would be up here all night with all the people I have to thank!!

The things I do are truly from my heart! The advice I give, the connections I make are all for the artists that ask me for them. I’m just grateful that many of you are in my life and I just want you all to achieve your dream. Then one day when you are up on stage receiving a prestigious award and giving your First of all I want to Thank God speech before you get off the mic you say oh and Thank you Lisa Stant Baltimore Paparazzi for taking pictures and believing in me!

Thank you again!!

That was a nice little speech!! LOL  If I hadn't written anything and I got on the mic I probably would have l been a smartass and I have been working on that and my Karma has been wonderful since cutting numerous people out of my world!  Blessings and meeting new people have came my way and good things in  my personal life as well.  So I'm going to try and be Lisa but Liezel might slip out!!  Now we will be good as long as L I stays locked away!!  LOL

I really want to say THANK YOU to everyone I have met since 2008 until now and those I'm going to meet in the future!!  If it weren't for all of you who have shared my photos with my name and logos over the years, no one would even know me or my work!!

I want to thank all of those who introduce me as LISA THE BALTIMORE PAPARAZZI!!  You are helping me expand my brand and my name!  In the past I have had people introduce me as LISA MY PHOTOGRAPHER!!  Sigh!!  Even THE PHOTOGRAPHER would have been better than making it sound like I worked for them!  LOL  Whoooooaaaa  Liezel slipped out!  So thank you to all of you who respected what I do and the role I play!

There are too many names to remember!!  It is so hard to not hurt anyone's feelings but I have met so many awesome people over the years who have added to my success and to my love for the music scene!
