The Passing of Nipsey Hussle

Nipsey Hussle

On March 31, 2019, the news broke of the murder of Nipsey Hussle. Fans, comedians, actors, athletes, music artists, just about everyone was posting their condolences and sadness of losing not only a rapper but a father, a son, a partner to actress Lauren London, an entrepreneur, a man who was trying to empower the community he grew up in as well as educate and help people everywhere.

I personally am not a per say fan,  I can't recite lyrics or tell you what song is play of his or the like.  I can say that I am a fan of the man himself.  I heard of him a few years ago through other people and other artists that I am a fan of and in the passing years became aware of the man who was very knowledgeable of the things he had done in his past and was now trying to help the community he grew up in as well as trying to help those growing up to not have to struggle as he had to in his youth.  I did however have his friend and artist J Stone on my radio show last year.  We talked a little about Nipsey during the interview.  I can't even imagine what he is going through right now.

I watched an interview of him and he was young talking about investing and buying real estate and things that you usually don't hear a "gang member" talking about.  He knew that all the cars and diamonds and jewelry were just things.  Every time I heard him talk about anything, it was giving knowledge and whether one person or multiple people got the message, the message was given,

I have seen multiple people on my timeline on Facebook who are effected by the loss of Nipsey Hussle and those who just can't seem to understand how they are effected because they didn't "know" him.  The only way I can explain it to them is this....through Nipsey Hussle's music people felt his spirit.  Just like with Tupac and Biggie, through music you can feel like you know that person, you can relate to that person.  Music is life....I have always said this.  Just like those of you who watch Love and Hip Hop or Real Housewives of whatever or those Kardashian....and become so invested in their lives and talking about what they do....people who are fans of Nipsey Hussle feel like they knew the man.

I hate when someone is judgmental about the way someone feels.  I seen so many people commenting negatively when all they had to do was not say anything.  Let that person grieve because that is what they are doing.  Grieving for a man, a father, an entrepreneur, an artist, a rapper, a member of his community, a business man and yes even a gang banger as he has been called.  But more importantly he gave music and lyrics to those who couldn't express how they felt or couldn't explain what they were going through.  If you as a person can't understand that, then say that.  Ask someone, hey....how can you feel so much for a man you never met or knew personally?  I mean that is if you really wanted to know.  Maybe you just wanted to be a true dickhead and think you are funny when you clearly are not.

I felt like I had to write this blog today.  I haven't written in so long.  I need to start again.  I have so much to say.  And I say things to get people to think about they opposite side of things.  Call me a devils advocate if you must.  I like to look at all sides and get people to open their minds to the bigger picture.

The world lost a really great man who will be compared to other great men.  Biggie, Tupac, Malcolm, Martin, any figure in the world who was about knowledge and empowering their people, communities and opening the eyes of the world.  I would say that Nipsey Hussle is in that class of men.

So to all my friends, fans and family of Ermias Davidson Asghedom aka Nipsey Hussle I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Yours Truly,

Bodymore Big Steve - I Do This **** In My Sleep

Bodymore Big Steve - I Do This **** In My Sleep

So a few days ago I received a link.  Big Steve of Bodymore Records had sent me this project to listen to and review.  And I have been listening to it every day.

I have known Big Steve for years and I have watched him grow as an artist. This project is a mixture of beats and well stories. Big Steve goes over industry beats and makes them his own. He doesn't try to do what the original artist did and doesn't talk about the same things.

The very first track is a collection of what is called Classic Shit and it truly it.  Parts of verses from some of the best songs the Big Steve has had over the past few years.

The tracks on this project are such a great mixture.  The songs that are really personal and about love and his girls....he has 3 of the most beautiful little girls.....are the ones that I really feel to my soul.  His pain of loving and losing is like him opening up himself and it is therapy for him and the listener.

He even as a track called Spoken Word that is dedicated to his daughter Mira.  Something really different for an artist to put on a mixtape.  Almost brought me to tears the first time I heard it and even the 5th time I listened to it.

Big Steve has Lil Black from 92Q hosting the mixtape.

He even sings a little on the songs with the help of autotune.

I love seeing the growth in this young man over the years.  This project really shows the versatility of Big Steve as an artist and the growth as a man and father.

He will be dropping this at midnight tonight online and delivering hard copies tomorrow for FREE.  According to his post he made this morning.

Grab this project as soon as it comes out.  You will be playing this from beginning to end and then repeat.

Puzzle Pieces

She wanted him so bad.  She had missed him so much over the years.  But she wasn't about to get her feelings mixed up again.  She couldn't let herself feel so much for him and he wasn't able to do the same for her.  It wasn't that he wouldn't.....he just couldn't.  Life can be so complicated.  But here he was holding her, kissing her, telling her how he felt and all she could do was smile and not say anything. She was too afraid to say anything because what if he really didn't mean it.  What if it was just the alcohol talking.  What if he was going to regret it the next day.

All she did know was that looking at him smile made her melt.  Feeling his lips on hers felt like fire was consuming her. The touch of his hands sent chills throughout her body.  She had missed him more than even she had realized.  The words I love you came from his mouth and as much as she wanted to say them back, her head was screaming no!  She did love him.  She had loved him.  No matter what happened in the past few years, she couldn't stay mad or upset with him.  She loved his spirit, his soul....she loved him.

Laying in his arms it felt like this is where she was suppose to be.  Like 2 pieces of a puzzle that fit perfectly in a puzzle that they didn't belong to.  Her head laid on his shoulder, listening to him breathe as he dozed off.  She stared at his face thinking that it was a dream and not wanting to wake up if it was one.  She laid there thinking this was so wonderful.  And then reality started setting in.  In a few hours, he would be gone.  On his way back home.  She would once again wonder when she would see him again.  Wondering when he would call.  Wondering when she would feel his touch.  And this is why she couldn't let herself fall for him again.

New Year Post - KAE FIELDS

The first blog of 2014....I have been slacking on writing the blog because I guess I felt like no one was reading them.  Then I was like I will make a video blog but no one watches those unless you are outing someone out.

But I wanted to write my first blog and didn't want to write about last year....I did that mess in the video I posted!  So I was sitting here posting up music videos from some good people.  Ones that always show me love and support and then I watched Pit Fights battle between Murda and Rolla even though I was there taking pictures!!  LOL  I always miss things because I'm trying to get the shots! 1,333 to be exact that night!  LOL

Anyway, so I remembered that I got Kae Field's cd last night!  Now I have heard a lot of his songs because he is one of the artists that I really like and support.  I mean really support. The kind of support that he is doing a show and I don't like anyone else on the show but I go anyway! LOL  Also he has done videos for a good amount of his songs.

So I pop it in my laptop...I don't have a cd player much less a radio in my house.  The cd has 13 tracks with 3 of those being Kae Fields speaking so there are 10 tracks.

What I love about this cd is it is one of those cds that it has a mixture of songs.  It has tracks like Suge Knight ft TK Black.......

And then has tracks like True Love ft Qui Qui Martin....

You can check out his other videos on his YouTube page  http://www.youtube.com/user/KFieldsTV as well as hit him on FB Kae Fields

This cd will be a companion for my cd player in my car most definitely!!  What a great way to bring in the new year!!!

Pit Fights Battle League Has Them As Young As 12 Yrs Old............

I have written about the Pit Fight Battle League before and yeah I may be a little biased because for one I have been supporting the league before he had Grind Time backing and I have been watching and taking pictures of the battles since like 2010.  And for two, most of the administration and battlers have known since 2007.

This battle right here has gotten a whole lot of positive feed back and of course a few negative but I'm here to say that this was a good battle regardless of anything else!!

12 yr old Mash made her Pit debut February 19, 2012 at No Love event where her mother DGK was battling Queen.  Towards the end of DGK's third round, Mash jumped in and with just 4 bars took the whole 3rd round as a win for herself.  That made WorldStar Hip Hop with a total as of right now of 345,508 views. 26, 869 views on Youtube.

Yeah people called it a stunt but how many times have you watched a battle and people have pulled out shirts or photos or other props??  It was clever and Mash writes her own bars.  Of course her mother knows her lines because they go over them.  No different then those in the crew saying your lines with you!  But because she is 12 I guess there was a reason for the hating and negativity!  LOL

Well the new battle was set up and it was only one round.  I'm not gonna spoil it for anyone who hasn't watched this battle at the top but I will say this much......Chris O Dubb Pierce.....O-Dubb did it so great.  No cussing in the battle and was not disrespectful well some of you may not like some of the lines but it was still well played and Mash just shows that with time and studying she is definitely an up and coming artists in battle rap and in music.

Mash and her younger sister Dasha are TeamDGKKids.  The currently have a cd out for sale "Next To Blow" and have performed on stage and have an upcoming show at 5 Seasons 830 Guilford Ave in Baltimore on June 3rd.

This is the bio on the #teamdgkkids Facebook page......YOUNG ENTHUSIASTIC GO GETTERS! STRAIGHT A STUDENTS FIVE TIME 1ST PLACE WINNER IN MY (MASH) LOCAL KARATE TOURNAMENTS! WE APPEARED ON MARYLANDS FOX 45 NEWS PERFORMING OUR SONG "SHINE THE LIGHT ON THE BULLIES WITH NOW OVER 2,000 VIEWS ON YOUTUBE! YOU CAN ALSO FIND ME (MASH) ON WORLDSTAR HIP HOPhttp://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshh99JfM76ejcCiNA66WHERE I MADE BATTLE HISTORY IN THE PIT! Recently #teamdgkids released a music video "high off life" with the introduction of "dasha" performing a remake of mgk's song "wild boy" now "wild girl" we are currently working on an album which is due to drop before the summer!

So go check out Mash and Dasha.....hit up their mother Datgirlkesh TeamDgkkids Thestorytellerto find out how you can get that cd.

Please take a minute to look at the battle and regardless of what you think remember it is a battle like any other.  Just it is a child vs adult..

Wisdom Court Kids Club Sock Hop

On March 2, 2013, Wisdom Court Kids Club had a kids sock hop at the Agricultural Center in Westminster!  I wasn't sure what to expect but I knew that anything connected to Wisdom Court was going to be fun.  The sock hop was from 7pm to 9:30pm and the kids still didn't want to stop dancing and having fun!

The kids enjoyed music by Wisdom Court dj DJ Cliffstarr, got their faces painted for $1, had pizza, water, juice, balls, balloons and jumpropes.

There were babies, toddlers and teenagers all having a ball!!

Even the parents had fun!!

This event is just one of many that the Wisdom Court Kids Club is having!  Plans for an Easter Egg Hunt are in the works and many other events for the kids are being planned.  So if you have kids, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, neighbor's kids....come out and have a good time with the kids!

This is the lady who was doing the face painting.........She is awesome!

No Love II Feb 17, 2013

Damn!!  I haven't written about a Pit Fight event in a while!!  LOL  For some reason I felt like I needed to write something about the Pit Fights Battle League!!

Now I have been supporting the battles since Shaka had them at the studio on Maryland Ave!!  Small area, too many people crammed into a small space! Felt like summer in the winter time kinda shit! LOL  I'm not a big big fan of rap battles but I am a fan of local artists and music and I try to help get the word out on what is going on!  I am a director of traffic!!

I haven't been to a Pit Fight in a few months.  Actually December 3 was the last one I went to!!  I had different reasons on why I stopped coming!!  I am there to support....not to be anyone's personal photographer!!  If you wanted to pose for pictures all night you should have brought your own camera!  I get shots of the battlers and a few other shots but when it feels like you want a photo shoot I just might snap!!

Anyway, I had to come to this one for a few reasons.  My girl Hazzy was battling Spence, King Major was coming up from VA to battle Tay Brown and Smirf was battling too and I have watched him progressively improve over couple of years.  So I knew I had to be there for these battles at least!

Of course from all the running around I did I didn't charge my battery up and it died!  I tried to run home thinking I wasn't going to miss much and ended up miss Bars' battle!!  He is one of the guys who always appreciates my work!  LOL  Sorry Bars!!  You know I owe you!!!

King Major and Tay Brown
King Major wasn't up to par!  He was sick and this wasn't his best performance from the ones I have personally witnessed and I have watched a couple on YouTube!!  I think that one day these 2 should battle again!!

Then there was a spur of the moment performance but Team Kremate!  LOL  Their song Burn Everything is a hit!  It is actually the number one song on my mixtape!! I tried putting it somewhere else on the list but I had to open up with that track!!  Just too awesome!!  Team Kremate is  Savage da Beast, Flint, Bones, and Dime Poe!!

Flint, Savage, Dime Poe, Bones

Next up was Smirf's battle with Vizz from Philly!!  I'm not gonna lie, Vizz came to fight but so did Smirf!!  This was a really good battle and I will be glad when the footage comes out so people can hear all the bars and judge this one!!  I know who I thought won!  Everyone has their own opinions!!

Vizz and Smirf

This is when my camera died!!  :(  L Dot and Makk Mizzle and it was only for one round!!  Just a teaser???!!  Really??  LMAOOOO  People were upset about that!!!  But it was a good round!!  Can't wait to see if they are going to do a whole 3 rounds or what!!  LOL

L Dot and Makk Mizzle

This is when I left out to run home to get my charger and missed like 2 battles I think!!

But I got back in time to see Hazzy and Spence!!  This battle is going to get views!!  I know it will! For one it's Female vs Male and for two they had been going back and forth over Facebook and Twitter!!  LOL

Hazzy and Spence
Now I am just trying to shine some light on Pit Fights!  If you want to see footage go to http://www.pitfights.tv/  Also there is an event every 3 Sunday!  They also have battles on the First Monday of the month!!

If you can please come out to at least one event!!  I can guarantee it won't be your last!!  These battlers are gifted and will say things that will having you laughing for days and sometimes weeks later!!  LOL

In The Spotlight Vol 3

Well after a few months of gathering music and waiting on some music I have finally posted the mixtape on Datpiff!!

Go check out the cd.....stream it, download it, but please support it!!  These guys and the couple of ladies I have on there work hard at what they do and I think they need to be recognized for their craft!!!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this mixtape and the previous ones!  There are 2 more in the works!!!  One is all females and the other is R&B!!  I'm doing what I can to let people know about the talent in Baltimore!!!

Syncere aka Syn aka Homicide

Once again I can't tell you the first time I heard of this young man right here!  LOL  This was the first time I met him I do know that! It was at Ty Gudda's Baltimore Baltimore video shoot, who has since changed his name to his given name of Ty Hill.  Over the years Syncere aka Homicide has built a catalog of music and videos and basically staying out of the clique mentality that is so dominant in Baltimore.  Although he does have a few other artists that he works with closely and regularly, Homicide is primarily a lone artists making his way and not depending on a "clique".  Tends to seem cocky but is about his business which makes him stand out!  He is featured on my latest mixtape In The Spotlight Vol 3 that should be out shortly!  Below are some pictures that I took and a couple things he sent.  Also I posted a couple videos!  So click a video or a link and check him out!  You may find a new artist to support!!

Here is his bio and a few links to be able to check him out!!
