Baltimore Paparazzi......Nov 9th Show and the future.......

I use to wonder why I would go to shows and it would be the same rappers and artists every show and now I know why.

I started throwing shows to give people a chance to do a show, make some money from ticket sales and to be able to network and do more events with Wisdom Court.  But all these people have shown me is they don't want to work professionally or work at all.

I can't tell you how many times I get told they don't have the money to pay me the $25 deposit.  Uhmmmm  For $25 I give you 15 tickets to sell for $10 each....that's $150 and then you give me $50 the night of the show. It's that easy.

I continue to get people asking me for info.  I send it to them and then never hear anything.

I am booked till the end of the year which is Dec 14th and I truly don't know if I'm going to continue.  I have been trying to do this to help people and time and time again the music scene has shown me that it only wants someone to hand them things.

Funny how when industry artists come to the city I get tons of inbox messages about do I know who to contact so they can open for that artist.  SMH  Funny thing is most of the time I do know but why in the hell should I do anything for those people when I have been the one supporting them with coming to their shows and taking pictures?

Too many egos for me to deal with.  I have tried and tried to help and support and I guess save the scene but most of you take all that for granted.

What happened to the scene??? You happened to the scene.  Instead of supporting the scene you support yourself and expect it to support you in return.

Watch and see what happens next.

The Baltimore Paparazzi and Wisdom Court Ent Presents....In The Spotlight events!!!

Well its been a while since I have written and I have some news!  August 10th I will be throwing the first of  what I hope is many shows at 5 Seasons.  Now this show is going to be a little different then all other shows!  It is a stepping stone to be able to do other shows at other venues that Wisdom Court is apart of and have something to do with.

I have been wanting to do shows for a few years but now I'm able to do so with the help and backing of Billy Lyve and the whole Wisdom Court team.  I have always wanted to help the scene do more and achieve more from what they are trying to accomplish.

With this show there is a criteria....rules if you want to call it!  And just because we are cool and friends that doesn't mean you will be able to do the show on the strength of that.  Here is the email that I send to anyone interested in being apart of the show:

The Baltimore Paparazzi and Wisdom Court Ent Presents...In The Spotlight

Thank you for your interest in being apart of this event series.  I have wanted to do something for the local scene for years and now have the opportunity to do so.

The criteria is you have to follow:

Be professional, business minded and remember that this is a business.  I will not tolerate any nonsense and if anyone associated with you causes an issue or a problem at an event you will not be booked again with me and I will not suggest you for the events that follow for Wisdom Court which is the purpose of my event!

There is a minimum 15 tickets to sell! I would encourage you to sell more to have a better chance of being able to do other events.  It is a 50/50 ticket sale.  So that means 15 tickets I get $75 and you get $75.

I require a security deposit of $25 which is non-refundable. So if you don't know if you can sell the tickets or if you can do that date then I suggest you don't commit yourself to that date!

I know some come just pay for the tickets without selling but I want to see faces in the crowd.  That is the purpose of the shows...to show off your talent and to gain new fans.

There will be 12 acts, 12 minute sets.

I want everyone there on time and staying more than just your set.  This is a networking event as well.  You may see someone you want to collab with or connect with.

This is basically a stepping stone to being able to be booked at other events.  Everyone has to start somewhere and I'm trying to give everyone a chance.  So if this is something you can do than let's work!!

Thank you

So if you think that you can do this and want to be able to network then let's work.  If you can show me that you have a following and can sell more than 15 tickets then I can suggest you for our Club Paparazzi shows and then the Baltimore Soundstage events we have and then possibly for a spot at Ram's Head.
I have been trying to get some of you to network and come out to support Wisdom Court and this is why!  I have been working on new adventures and trying to network with everyone.  It's not up to me anymore, it's your turn to show me how serious you are about your music.

Come out and support me and my August 10th show and show me how serious you are about networking.

Pit Fights Battle League Has Them As Young As 12 Yrs Old............

I have written about the Pit Fight Battle League before and yeah I may be a little biased because for one I have been supporting the league before he had Grind Time backing and I have been watching and taking pictures of the battles since like 2010.  And for two, most of the administration and battlers have known since 2007.

This battle right here has gotten a whole lot of positive feed back and of course a few negative but I'm here to say that this was a good battle regardless of anything else!!

12 yr old Mash made her Pit debut February 19, 2012 at No Love event where her mother DGK was battling Queen.  Towards the end of DGK's third round, Mash jumped in and with just 4 bars took the whole 3rd round as a win for herself.  That made WorldStar Hip Hop with a total as of right now of 345,508 views. 26, 869 views on Youtube.

Yeah people called it a stunt but how many times have you watched a battle and people have pulled out shirts or photos or other props??  It was clever and Mash writes her own bars.  Of course her mother knows her lines because they go over them.  No different then those in the crew saying your lines with you!  But because she is 12 I guess there was a reason for the hating and negativity!  LOL

Well the new battle was set up and it was only one round.  I'm not gonna spoil it for anyone who hasn't watched this battle at the top but I will say this much......Chris O Dubb Pierce.....O-Dubb did it so great.  No cussing in the battle and was not disrespectful well some of you may not like some of the lines but it was still well played and Mash just shows that with time and studying she is definitely an up and coming artists in battle rap and in music.

Mash and her younger sister Dasha are TeamDGKKids.  The currently have a cd out for sale "Next To Blow" and have performed on stage and have an upcoming show at 5 Seasons 830 Guilford Ave in Baltimore on June 3rd.

This is the bio on the #teamdgkkids Facebook page......YOUNG ENTHUSIASTIC GO GETTERS! STRAIGHT A STUDENTS FIVE TIME 1ST PLACE WINNER IN MY (MASH) LOCAL KARATE TOURNAMENTS! WE APPEARED ON MARYLANDS FOX 45 NEWS PERFORMING OUR SONG "SHINE THE LIGHT ON THE BULLIES WITH NOW OVER 2,000 VIEWS ON YOUTUBE! Recently #teamdgkids released a music video "high off life" with the introduction of "dasha" performing a remake of mgk's song "wild boy" now "wild girl" we are currently working on an album which is due to drop before the summer!

So go check out Mash and Dasha.....hit up their mother Datgirlkesh TeamDgkkids Thestorytellerto find out how you can get that cd.

Please take a minute to look at the battle and regardless of what you think remember it is a battle like any other.  Just it is a child vs adult..

Billy Lyve and Wisdom Court Open for MGK

March 10, 2013

Now when I found out about this show I was excited!  Not because MGK was coming to Baltimore but because Billy Lyve and Wisdom Court were going to be opening up for him.  This was going to be a packed  show but Wisdom Court fans and supporters were going to be coming from all over.  Not just Maryland but West Virginia, Delaware.....everywhere!  I also knew that once this crowd seen Billy perform along with Ambush, Penthouse and Voice performing the fanbase for Wisdom Court was going to be crazy. And it was.

The fans started lining up at like 3pm according to Baltimore Soundstage and by 7pm it was around the corner on Lombard on its way to Gay St!

Once you got inside it just looked like a sea of humans!  People from the front to the back side to side!  There was no room to breathe people were still trying to make moves to get closer to the stage!  It wasnt happening!!

Wisdom Court member JayMoney got on stage and pumped the crowd up and then took a picture of the sea of people.

When Billy Lyve took the stage the crowd went crazy.  Even though they were there to see MGK they rocked out with the music!!  The energy was crazy.  Everyone was amped up and it was contagious!!

Knatty410 - Off The Bench Vol 1

I met Knatty a few years ago.  I always knew that he was a good producer but this project here shows how versatile he truly is and how talented.  All the tracks on this project range from hip hop to reggae to r&b and even a club beat.  What I have seen in the past with producers is the beats they make all sound the same. Like it is a signature and when you hear it, you say oh that's this producer or that producer.  This project shows that one producer can have many different sounds.

I put the cd in my car and let it play.  He has a few names of artists that I recognized...Savage Da Beast, Block Hugga, Sonny Gramz, Will Starr, Lynee Michelle, Nic Soprano and Wood.  As I was listening to the cd, I wasn't really listening to the artists on there....I was listening to the production since that's who's project it is....the producer.

The ability and the talent that Knatty shows with this project is amazing.  I have noticed that some producers all have the same sound.  They make the same kind of beats.  But Knatty shows his range of production with this project.  All you have to do is take a listen to the variety and I'm sure you can find something that you can vibe to!

Listed below are ways of connecting to Knatty.  Please take a listen and hit him up to get your own copy of his project!  Support your local talent because when others start taking notice and prices start going up you will be wanting that hot beat for that hit song you wrote!!

Wisdom Court Kids Club Sock Hop

On March 2, 2013, Wisdom Court Kids Club had a kids sock hop at the Agricultural Center in Westminster!  I wasn't sure what to expect but I knew that anything connected to Wisdom Court was going to be fun.  The sock hop was from 7pm to 9:30pm and the kids still didn't want to stop dancing and having fun!

The kids enjoyed music by Wisdom Court dj DJ Cliffstarr, got their faces painted for $1, had pizza, water, juice, balls, balloons and jumpropes.

There were babies, toddlers and teenagers all having a ball!!

Even the parents had fun!!

This event is just one of many that the Wisdom Court Kids Club is having!  Plans for an Easter Egg Hunt are in the works and many other events for the kids are being planned.  So if you have kids, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, neighbor's kids....come out and have a good time with the kids!

This is the lady who was doing the face painting.........She is awesome!
